This is a shame for Wii owners, considering these two games were really good back in the day. Why would they use their PS2 ports to build the game when they have perfectly good PC and Xbox versions that worked, looked and played better. They could have started making this game for the Wii using one of the superior versions, instead of the PS2 versions. The Wii is more powerful then a PS2 and roughly as powerful, if not more, then the original Xbox. And work on the controls, it can be done nic...

That could be quite true. It's known fact that Nintendo makes a profit on every DS and Wii sold right now (and with the Wii being basically a GameCube with a little bit more oomph to it, you can get bet Nintendo is pocketing at least over 100USD profit on every console sold, if not more), they could probably care less how many games are sold as long as lots of hardware gets moved. Even looking at the first party games that have been coming out as of late, you can tell not a lot of real strong...

It's a shame to see all that effort put into this remake but put in the Microsoft vault because of Nintendo. Just look at those screenshots and you can tell that Rare did a great job remaking the game. Maybe not to the highest of modern standards like you would see on a full, 50-70 dollar retail release, but for an XBLA (and Wiishop or whatever it's called) release that is pretty damn good. Damn good. Both parties would make a ton of money, Oh well, if it happens it happens, but I wouldn't ho...

I have a good feeling that the PS3 might be able to do the 10 year life cycle that Sony has been touting, might only make 7-9 years but that still wouldn't be too bad. However, there is definitely a good chance that the PS4 will launch before the end of that product cycle. Another 3-5 years and we will definitely have a PS4 on the shelves, you can't deny that.

I think the only real problems that are holding the PS3 back right now are the games and ports not being coded properly f...

Would be nice but where is the RAM expansion pack going to go. You can't just plug extra RAM into a USB slot unfortunately.

The solution here is go out and buy a 500 gigabyte hard drive for your PS3 and laugh at us 360 owners who are stuck with a 150 dollar 120 gig drive as our highest option. Gotta give credit to Sony for giving their customers the option there.

Go buy a bigger HDD and never worry about installs again (once the games been installed of course). If you can afford a PS3, you can afford another 100 bucks to buy a bigger hard drive (well, you won't get a 500 for that price, but you can de...

At first I thought Jenny McCarthy wasn't the best choice for Tanya, but after seeing a few preview videos of her in the cinematics she seems to do a fairly good job I must say. She fits in with the kind of goofy, not so serious direction they've been going for with the Red Alert franchise since 2. She seems to take her part serious enough for what it is.

Sure, Tanya's blond now, but whatever, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. They could have dyed her hair brown, I bet that ...

Looks neat. That Triple Channel DDR3 looks pretty cool. Nice capacitors on there too, no cheap stuff. And support for SAS enterprise hard drives, that is amazing (though I'm sure it won't be the most used feature). Looks like it won't be able to do Tri-SLI with that PCIe layout though, if this one even supports SLI that is.

It would be nice for Wii users if Nintendo could enable the use of SDHC cards instead of just regular SD cards. That would probably solve most storage issues right there. Those SDHC cards can hold, I think it's 16 or 32 gigs is where they are at for storage right now. They're the same form factor as regular SD cards, but they are somewhat different, which is why I think it would take more then a software update to use them. 32 gigs would probably be more then most Wii users would ever need.

It is surely going to be ported to the PC eventually, this all sounds like a bunch of marketing hogwash to me. I just hope they do a better job with Gears 2 on the PC then they did with Gears 1. I've never seen a newer game that unstable in recent years, and that problem with the updating, that was a bunch of BS. Great game and all, but those kinds of bugs should never ship in a game like that, especially a high profile release like Gears of War.

Epic and Microsoft have probably ...

The real problem behind the reliability of the 360 has always been inadequate cooling, especially on the GPU. Just look inside and you will see that the DVD drive blocks most of the airflow over the GPU heatsink, not to mention that it's not that well designed (something with a little more fins and surface area could have helped). Hopefully, this new chip puts out a lot less heat then the old ones.

I have to admit the PS3 got the cooling solution right the first time. I've got my...

Allied Assault was definitely one of the best FPS games of it's time. Spearhead was great too. Breakthrough wasn't too bad either. Actually, it was pretty good itself but faced with games like Call of Duty it couldn't really keep up, graphically or otherwise. Multiplayer in every version was fun though (damn bazookas though).

Pacific Assault got bad reviews, but I always enjoyed it. It was the first (or one of the first) games to explore the Pacific Theater in WWII, and you got t...

You know, the PC is really looking pretty damn good right now for games, especially in the next little while. If EA and other companies ease up on the touchy issue of DRM, it could be a good year for the PC.

There is a reason that most enthusiasts don't do this, and that is the constant risk of condensation landing on your motherboard and other components. This kind of a setup can be a real hassle, and also thermaltake is not know for their great quality.

If you thought water cooling was hardcore, think again. Chilled water, TEC, vapor chill and now air conditioning are much more risky then that. I water cool my PC's CPU and my 360 (pretty spiffy actually), but those other methods re...

Oh sure, it isn't illegal to download stuff you already own. I've had a few game CDs break, scratched too badly or just gone missing and it's nice to be able to download a replacement. And sometimes it's easier to download a rip of a movie you own then try and do it yourself with your personal copy.

But, the majority of people are using it for movies, programs, games, music etc... that they do not own. And all of that is lost revenue that they (the publishers) can't make back. Mo...

The problem with DRM is that, in the end all it does is hinder the legitimate user who bought the game. The people pirating the games have the better deal, since they won't be dealing with the DRM, since it was already removed for them. DRM just doesn't work, it always gets cracked. The only game I can think of that lasted long enough was Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. That game lasted around a year and a half before the pirates and hackers cracked it. But the starforce protection used was horr...

I'm kind of wondering how they are going to tie in avatars and newer games. Will accomplishing achievements in games unlock new features for your avatar, like clothing and accessories and the like, will they be retroactive with some older games too. Or hell, maybe it'll be micro transaction based for that stuff. Or maybe we won't get new clothing and stuff at all, idk. Not really to important to me, I just want to know how much depth these features will have.

I'm sure there wil...

This game should definitely be next gen and arrive on the 360, PS3 and PC (just ordered two 4870 X2s for cheap cheap, definitely want it on PC now). If it follows the format of the last two games, it would be a linear romp through the game, and would work just fine on the 360 spanning 2 or 3 discs if needed, and a Blu-Ray disc on PS3 (and maybe for a special PC edition too..). I really like the last two games, hopefully free radical does a better job then they did with Haze. Just, please dude...

March 4, 2000, that's the date and year the PS2 came out in Japan, not 1999. I think your thinking of the Dreamcast's date there.
